Get Involved

There are plenty of ways to help the many dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Ray County. Ready to get involved? Here’s how:

Ready to roll up your sleeves and join our cause? The Humane Society of Ray County operates 100% through the efforts of our amazing volunteers. We have room for all sorts of volunteer services, from dog walking, to kennel cleaning, to individual attention and care for each of the animals awaiting adoption. You’ll feel great knowing you did your part to help pets in need.

The Humane Society of Ray County depends on donations to help pets in need. Donations help to cover expenses like building maintenance and monthly utilities, as well as basic needs and medical attention for the animals in our care. With every donation, these dogs and cats get a second chance at life in a loving home.

Donate now to help make a difference for the adoptable pets in your community. PayPal offers a safe, secure, and simple way to donate to the Humane Society of Ray County online, or you can donate through the Venmo app. Or, if you’d rather make a donation of supplies, we encourage your to check out our Chewy Wish List filled with the items we need the most. The cats and dogs of HSRC thank you!

Let’s face it. Living in a shelter can be hard. Some cats and dogs handle it better than others. But when life at the shelter gets to be too much to handle, or when there are no vacant spots available, our animals rely on the generosity of foster families to help them on their journey to a fur-ever home. Think you have what it takes to help our pups and kitties adjust to home life? We’d be happy to have you join us. Simply fill out the application to get started.

Last, but certainly not least, the absolute BEST way to help our cats and dogs in need is to give them the loving home they’re desperately waiting for. We do our best to make sure the pets in our care are placed with a family that matches their personality, to ensure a happy ending for everyone. We encourage you to check out the dogs and cats ready for adoption, fill out an adoption application, and stop by the shelter to meet them in person.
